This superb yellow flowering bush is unknown even to some passionate tea lovers.
A great shame! Like the popular Rooibos tea plant, the Honeybush grows wild in South Africa. It produces a delicious brew that is not only refreshing but is also a secret weapon against many illnesses. Around two hundred years ago scientists discovered the beneficial effect it had on bronchial and lung related diseases. Following research showed that Honeybush tea helps with intestinal problems and has a developed an anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and tumour preventative effect.
The infusion, which is low in tannin and caffeine-free, has a its own mild aroma and is highly suitable for children. It isn't necessary to add anything, maybe just a drop of lemon juice. It can also be drunk cold or mix it with fruit juice to get a healthy and delicious thirst quencher.
